The Charity society is part of the Political & Activity federal group of Societies Guild. The society’s main objective is to raise awareness on issues which plague many developing countries on issues such as poverty, health, violence and much more.
You will gain knowledge on many issues occurring across the world and around us. This will be followed up with debates and discussions where you can find out more about ways to get more involved with organisations working on the subject.
You will also have the chance to raise awareness on a topic which you believe is needed to be shared with others. The Charity Society will also have fundraising events throughout the year which you could participate.
By joining the society you would not only gain more knowledge on issues that plague many countries but you will also develop good communication and presentation skills.
This is a great opportunity to meet like minded people and meet new people.
For the academic year 2011-2012 your newly elected executives are as follow:
Michael Ali (President) – jcaia@essex.ac.uk
Vincent Lin (Vice-President/Treasurer) – vlin@essex.ac.uk
You will see us at the Fresher’s Fair stall so please stop by to see us and get to know more about what the society is all about. We hope to meet you soon!
