It has been tradition within the Students' Union to honour the Socities Guild's best Societies each year at the Annual Golden Guild Awards. With 5 headlining awards for Societies, as well as Society Standard Awards and the Commendation for members who have gone above and beyond the call of duty, the evening is designed to honour, but also thank, all those individuals and Societies who have really made a difference here at Essex.
This year the Golden Guild Awards combined with the Voscars and the Sports Awards into one huge event The 2013 Awards. It was fantastic to see all the accomplishments by all three areas of student activities.
The awards for societies are as follows;
Society of the Year -The Cypriot Society
Best New Society - The Animal Protection Society
Best Event of the Year - The African Caribbean Society
Most Improved Society - The French Connection Society
Most Active Society - The Theatre Arts Society
