Essex Bright Futures is an award winning student-led society, focused on helping students from all degree disciplines to maximise their employability skills through year-round collaboration with industry.
During the last academic year we hosted events with Pricewaterhouse Coopers, ICAEW, Capgemini, ACCA, CIPFA and many more!

Introductory meeting

Description: The Society Manager of Bright Futures, Jackie Jobes, is invited to hold a presentation where you will find out more about the society itself, the advantages of being part of Bright Futures and how to get most out of it.
There will also be presentation on How to Get The Best Graduate Job, where topics like What to include on your CV, How to Stand Out in a Telephone Interview, Ability Tests - how to pass them and Assessment Centres - what to expect, will be covered.
So, do come along at the meeting, which is COMPULSORY for the members of the society, but it is also open for everyone else that wants to know more about Essex Bright Futures Society and also how to get a step closer to your dream job!

The Leadership Development Programme
Teachers are first and foremost leaders. Teach First’s intensive two-year programme will give you the training, experience and support to become an inspirational leader both in the classroom and beyond. Beginning with the Summer Institute, our Leadership Development Programme combines working, qualifying and training as a teacher with leadership development training, coaching and mentoring, and a range of networking and internship opportunities. Through completion of your PGCE, you will also gain credits which you can put towards a Masters qualification. Upon completion of the programme, you will then graduate to become a Teach First Ambassador.
Undergraduate opportunities:
Insight internship
Teach First is looking for enthusiastic, committed and creative individuals who want to gain an insight into the world of education and inspire pupils studying science, technology, engineering or maths (STEM) subjects in schools. You will gain valuable work experience in a Teach First London school, as well as immersing yourself in life and work at Teach First, a Times Top 10 Graduate Employer. You will also get the chance to come to an early assessment centre for the Leadership Development Programme.
Brand managers
Teach First is looking for ambitious, enthusiastic, confident and committed individuals to support our team of recruiters at university campuses nationwide. If you are passionate about addressing educational disadvantage, are an effective communicator with strong levels of initiative and organisational skills, this could be the perfect role for you. This role will allow you to develop your talents in marketing, promotion, and advertising, and will ideally suit people looking to apply for the Teach First Leadership Development Programme or business-focused students interested in gaining experience within this area.
Dinner with Industry

Essex Bright Futures Society together with Essex Economics Society and Essex Business School Society would like to invite you to the Dinner with Industry Event, which will take place on the 21st of November, from 6pm to 9pm in Level 2, Colchester Campus!
The companies which have already confirmed their attendance are PwC, BT, IBM and TeachFirst.
The format of the event will be the following:
6:00-6:15 Welcoming drinks
6:15-7:45 Companies' Presentations - each representative from the organisations will hold a short presentation about the company itself, the opportunities that they have for students, either graduates, postgraduates or currently studying, within the company, here is the chance to find out even more than you knew about the companies you might be interested at the moment or in the near future!
7:45-8:30 Speed Networking Session - this is the chance when you talk face to face with the employer and you can ask them all those burning questions, make the most of this session as this is a great opportunity
8:30-9:00 Dinner and drinks and a further Informal Networking Session - you can talk further more with the employers, ask them more questions that you didn't get the chance to in the speed networking session and also make the most of the buffet as it is going to be delicious!
Everything mentioned above is included in the price of the ticket, which is £10 for members of either of the 3 societies and £12 for non-members.
