UECC is a great club to get involved in during your time at Essex, and here's why:
*UECC caters for a range of abilities, fielding three Mens' XI and one
Womens' XI that compete in the British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS), Southeastern Cricket Leagues every year.
*UECC holds regular training sessions, which are full of banter, and are a great way to meet the club and fine tune any problems at the crease (that's not a euphemism). UECC hosts the annual University of Essex Indoor Cricket Tournament, which is a great competition that encourages UECC members, non-cricketers and even staff to strap on some pads and get involved!
* New for 2012, UECC will be working with Essex County C.C. to help promote cricket at the University, within the local community and in the county! We'll be going down to the Graham Gooch Indoor School for a couple of sessions at the Essex CCC Fast Bowling Academy, as well as
getting their coaches up to Wivenhoe Park for a few sessions. We should be able to get a couple of big names up to the uni to help promote Cricket at Essex! So don't miss out, get involved!
*UECC compete in the National BUCS Indoor Cricket Competition every year, which is held at the Ford County Ground in Chelmsford. We also get involved in a number of friendly indoor fixtures throughout the winter, so there will be plenty of cricket to get you through to the start of the outdoor season in April!
*If you're struggling to hit one off the square,
or you can't find that 'line and length' the coaches keep going on about, there are still regular socials for you to get involved in! UECC is a great social club and there are some great nights in store during 2011-12, so don't miss out! P.S. Freshers' Initiation, The Christmas Social, Derby Day and Alumni Weekend are usually messy ones and not to be missed!

So...
Whether you're an academy player, used to play at school, or it's your first time picking up a cricket bat, there's a place for you at UECC!
We have a number of qualified ECB coaches within the club who will be happy to help you learn the basics and improve, ready for the summer season! The combination of an active social scene, training, coaching and matches, is guaranteed to make the years you spend as part of UECC, some of the best of your life!

"I'm just going to say that anybody who joins UECC this year will definitely not regret it! I had 3 brilliant years as a member of this cricket club, and wouldn't change a thing (apart from my average maybe). Get on the bandwagon boysies!"- Jonno Mason, BSc Sport and Exercise, UECC 2008-2011.
"I wouldn't hesitate in joining UECC. Fantastic club where loads of fun (and banter) is had, both on and off the pitch. Doesn't matter whether you bat like Chris Gayle or Chris Martin; bowl line and length or short and wide, UECC is the one for you. Good luck to you boys this year!" - Dan
O'Shaughnessy, BA Modern Language Studies, UECC 2007-2011.

* ^^^ Save yourself £10 if you pay it all in one go!
* Full session fees must be paid in order to fund the hiring of the sports hall, club coaching and new equipment. Those who wish to attend net sessions during the winter should buy both memberships.
* You can opt for paying session fees by term- it provides you with a little more flexibility and you can pay as you go along, but it does cost more. If you only join the club in the Summer term you are still required to pay the FULL session fees. We recommend, joining early and paying as soon as your student loan comes through so you get the most for your money when it's available. You still have to buy ALL three terms! Thank you.
