Hey, I am Chris Clarke, the Treasurer of the Sports Federation and also President of the Fencing club. It’s my job to coordinate with the Finance Committee to discuss the allocation of the Sports Federation budget. Alongside this we will be holding budget and audit meetings with individual clubs to ensure the money granted to them is spent as specified. This year I hope to work closer with clubs giving them more control over their own budget. I’m always free for an email, so contact me if you have any questions regarding budgets and money!

3rd year of studying Modern History & Politics and I’m also currently the President of the Cricket club! As Communications Officer I want to help promote involvement in sport at the University and help clubs to reach out to more and more students! I’m planning to build on the work of last year’s exec in improving the use of social media and newsletters and by pushing clubs to really work hard in not only increasing the size of their clubs but also in communicating more to their own members and the entire student body in order to enhance the quality of the experiences they can offer. We all know how great it is to be part of a student sports club at Essex, so why not let everyone know all about it?

Hi, I'm Abigail Moore and this years Sport Executive Community and Volunteering Officer. My role is to encourage and support the Student Union's sport clubs with their volunteering schemes which are now compulsory, either taking part in student union run schemes or independently. Volunteering and taking part in the wider Colchester community is an integral part of being nominated for club of the year, an award all clubs should be working toward. My aim is to contact all presidents and work closely with each clubs committee to create volunteering schemes personal to each individual sport and publicise within the SU through its social networking platforms, to gain larger turn outs for your activities.

My name is Sophie, as well as being a General Rep for the Sports federation, I am the president and founder of the Pole dance club! My plan for my role as General rep this year is ensure that all large role members feeling assisted and supported within their designated roles, and to help with anything they need to ensure that they can carry out their ideas and plans efficiently and effectively. I would also like to be a voice for non BUCS clubs and those who aren't performances/competition based, and encourage and support them to develop as clubs and gain more recognition in the sports federation, including supporting them in their growth and development and bringing their achievements to be more widely recognized by the sports federation as a whole.

My aim for this year is to focus on working with club execs to improve their cash flow via fundraising activities. Ideally, I want to see as many clubs self-funded as possible.

Image of SophieMax Vigor - mvigor@essex.ac.uk - My name is Max Vigor and am a Sports and Exercise Student at the university. I play for the football team, but hope to see funding spread fairly across all Sports Clubs as part of the Finance Committee.

Image of SophieEirik Lonning - elonni@essex.ac.uk - I am Norwegian, and former VP of the Fencing Club. Studying: BA International Relations and Politics (Y3). I think a pragmatic and fair distribution of resources in liaison with reasonable terms and conditions would be a favourable approach in the Finance Committee.
