vTeam heads

There are a few people you are bound to encounter at some point after you have joined the vTeam. These people are here to help and support you to be part of something.

Bianca Castro is a vTeam Frontrunner who will be Keith Rowland’s right hand girl and will be helping oversee all projects and volunteer work that the vTeam do this year as well as all the vTeam media and everything else related to vTeam. She is a third year student studying English Language and Literature and is also Deputy Editor of theRabbit, the University of Essex’s student newspaper

Victoria Donnaloja, or Vicky as most people call her, is in charge of all One off projects. She is always working hard to get the next big, or small, vTeam project off the ground; planning and preparing so you can be part of something. She is in her second year studying economics. Victoria previously volunteered at a EuroCamp in France and has also taught English to younger children in Italy.

Ileana Sinziana Puscas will also be working with close attention to the various projects that the vTeam offer. Sinziana has been a volunteer for five years in an NGO (a non-government organisation) in Romania, her home country; she regularly took part in NGO’s projects and later was appointed president. She is in her second year studying Politics and Modern Language.

Keith Rowland is the guy that oversees everything the vTeam does, as well as keeping track of all the frontrunners and students volunteering. His official title is Community Volunteering manager, he has been at Essex since December 2009 working for the Students' Union. Keith started volunteering aged 16 as a race marshall at Brands Hatch motor racing circuit in Kent and has never looked back.

Ian Haw is the vTeam Administrator; he’s in charge of all the numbers, forms and technical information related to the vTeam. He is in his third and final year studying Accounting and Finance. He has various volunteering experience including raising money for The Princes’ Trust through the Million Makers competition and working at Dynamo Initiative, who work with local businesses to improve their efficiency.

Alexandra Ivan will be working closely with several of the vTeam projects this academic year. She has been volunteering for the vTeam since she first started at the university on both the Numbers project and many other volunteering opportunities that vTeam provide; as well as this Alexandra also became an Advice Centre Assistant volunteer during her second year She is studying Banking and Finance and is in her third year.
