East 15

For over 45 years, East 15 Acting School has produced actors, directors, and teachers of the highest calibre.

In September 2000, East 15 Acting School merged with the University of Essex opening an exciting new chapter in the history of both institutions - and offering exciting new opportunities to students.

The Students' Union at East 15

If you're a student at East 15 then you're automatically a member of the Students' Union.

East 15 Association (Loughton Students Association) is a subset of the Students' Union which is consist of a committee of five.  Their roles can be found here.  They deal with the day to day running of the association and work with the Students' Union in many different ways such as, events, academic and welfare issues. 

The Students’ Union exists to ensure that your time at East 15 is the best it could possibly be. We do this by making sure that you have every chance to influence all aspects of University life, whether it be the course you’re studying, how your views are represented, or how you choose to spend your spare time.

The Students' Union is lead by a group of 12 students who are elected once a year to represent your interests and are always available for you to speak to by e-mail or phone.

At any time you can find out more about the work of the elected students by reading their pages here or looking out for SU:MO, the Students’ Union produced supplement within the fortnightly student newspaper The Rabbit.

Services

There are a range of services available for you in East 15 including advice and sports and societies.

The Advice Centre offers support and advice on a range of matters both academic and personal.
The Students’ Union helps to facilitate this by providing resources and support so that students can form clubs and societies and fully enjoy the social side of University life.

Entertainment

The Students' Union also offers a full entertainments programme in its venues at the Colchester Campus. All of these events are open to East 15 students – to find out what’s on and to buy tickets click here

Get involved

One of the best things you can do at University is get involved with a social activity, whether it's sporty, social or something to help your career.

The Students’ Union funds and supports three student-lead media channels; The Rabbit newspaper; radio station Red; and TV channel R:TV.

The Rabbit newspaper is distributed fortnightly to East 15 and you can listen to Red and watch R:TV online here.

V-Team is the Students’ Union’s very own volunteering arm and can offer support to East 15 students looking to make a real difference to the local community through volunteering. Find out more about the opportunities available here.
