Feedback, suggestions and complaints
Here at the Students’ Union we are always looking for ways to improve the services we provide to you.
In order for us to get this right, and continue to improve, we need to know what YOU think.
The Union has a formal complaints procedure (found here), but we know that there are loads of situations where this isn’t necessary, and sometimes all you want is a quiet word in someone’s ear.
There are a couple of different ways you can do this:
1. Email us
If you have feedback, a suggestion or a complaint you can email the relevant member of the Executive Committee, who are elected to act on your behalf. Simply put 'Executive Questions' in the subject line of your email and you will get a response within 7 days (or 14 days for emails to Non-Sabbatical Officers). To see a list of all the Executive Committe members (and their email addresses) click here.
2. Come and speak to us in person
If you are looking for a face-to-face response, you can come up to the corridor at any time to see any of the elected officers and speak to us in person. Details of our office hours (when we will definitely be in our offices) can be found here.
3. Fill in our feedback form
Use the feedback form to tell us anything, including your gripes, groans, suggestions and ideas. If you so choose, you will be guaranteed a personal response within 3 working days, with an answer to your query. This system has been designed to cope with everything from grumbles about customer service in our venues to satisfaction with what we sell in the shop to problems with your club or society. This isn’t just about the bad things though, we welcome more than anything else your suggestions for improvement in YOUR Union; no matter how small or apparently impractical, we want to hear them. Click here to fill in our feedback form.
4. Speak to a member of Union Council
Another way is to approach a member of Union Council, whose details can be found here. Each of these representatives has been elected through a cross-campus ballot and exist to represent YOUR views. There are specific representatives for particular issues, for example the LGBT convenor, or the Entertainments committee, but there are also 10 General Reps, whose job it is to represent YOU at meetings of Union Council.
5. Have a rant on the forum
If you just want to get something off your chest, or get other students input into your issue, use our forum page specifically designed to let you do just that. The 'Your Rants' section is perfect for this.
If every student in the University told us one thing we could do better, we would have the best Students’ Union in the country, maybe even the world!
This is YOUR Union; help us improve it!
