Welcome to the family

As a student coming to Essex, you are now officially a member of the Students' Union, also known as the 'SU'!

Whatever you want to get out of University life, the SU here to make it happen for you. Run by students for students, we’re here show you just some of the ways we’ll help you love your time at E15.

The SU is run by the sabbatical team, (meaning they are taking a year out from studying to work for the SU) and they are more widely known as "the Sabbs". They’re here to represent you on all levels and help make your university life be amazing. They live on campus, work full time and get paid to be the voice of you, the students. Working alongside a team of permanent staff, they aim to deliver the best services possible for you.

The SU is completely separate to the University and we’re proud to work in a totally different way to most organisations. We run student shops, bars, restaurants and an awesome night club, and any money made goes straight back into running services for Essex Uni students!

We’ve created this section of the website just for you, and have packed it full of essential info, to ensure you’re kept in the know. To keep up to date with all the latest fresher news, make sure you become a fan of the SU on Facebook and show us your tweets on Twitter!
