The purpose of the role is to improve the professionalism of SX:TV by providing stability, continuity, recruiting and nurturing talent, and ensuring the tv station works effectively and delivers high quality material to the student membership.

1. Overall responsibility for coordinating the production and broadcast of SX:TV within agreed timescales and budget.

2. To achieve all objectives agreed by the Media Guild within the framework of the Service Level Agreement (SLA).

3. To research on an ongoing basis the student opinion of, and satisfaction with, SX:TV, reportly findings to the media Guild Executive.

4. To line manage the Assistant Manager of SX:TV and appraise, train and develop them to achieve excellent results.

5. To lead, inspire and coordinate a team of editors, producers, technicians and contributors designers to deliver a high quality product in accordance with the SLA.

6. To identify and assess opportunities for the SX:TV to utilize new methods or procedures to communicate effectively with the student membership.

7. Any other tasks agreed by the media guild executive.
