V-Team
The V-Team was created in 2001 with the introduction of the Active Communities Fund.
The purpose of the V-Team:
• to support and develop student led projects both on campus and in the local community
• to act as a liaison between students and local organisations and community groups
• to provide Frontrunners with training space, meeting rooms and resources
• to provide support in recruitment, training, CRB/ISA checks, monitoring and evaluation
• to offer advice, training and support in all areas of their project
• to promote, record and recognise the valued contribution students make to the lives of others through volunteering
• To make volunteering accessible, fun and enjoyable
Mission Statement:
To promote and develop opportunities for members and Staff of the Union to participate in volunteering activities which benefit the university directly, or the local communities of which the University is considered a part. In fulfilling this purpose, the V-Team shall seek to co-ordinate its activities by offering appropriate support and training and by maintaining links with relevant external bodies at local, national and international level.
Vision:
• To offer a diverse range of projects which anybody can be part of
• To encourage creativity and development when supporting projects
• To facilitate originality when developing new projects and ideas
• To offer volunteers the chance to gain extra skills and experience through volunteering
• To ensure all projects are robust in their setup and are allowed to grow annually
