DESCRIPTION
We are a society based around the love of the written word, and as such, we aim to help our members to practice their writing skills and hope to provide them with the best advice we can. To do this, we have weekly workshops catered towards different writing themes and forms, as well as regular socials and chances to submit your work for feedback.
We have published seven books of students’ work:
"The Love Book", "The Book of Beginnings", "L'amour", "Travel & Change", "Love & Longing", "Love & Heartbreak" and "The Book of Life" which are available to purchase from any of our exec. Keep an eye out on our Facebook and Instagram pages as we will post events on there as soon as we call for submissions for the next book.
Our goal is to create a friendly and positive community where members have the chance to put their work out into the world, make friends and learn new skills that they can take into the future. You do not have to study Creative Writing to join us- if you love writing and you're interested in gaining more knowledge, as well as sharing your words, this society is for you!
MEETINGS
The previous academic year all of our meetings were held online (via Zoom). This year we hope to be able to plan weekly face to face meetings, always with appropriate COVID-secure measures. We can all discuss together and find a day and a time that will work out for everyone. Most of our workshops last two hours, with a social.
We will always inform you on time about any other events that our society is going to plan.
