when do we recruit?

Image of a happy student in the shopWe launch our main recruitment campaign in December each year, and hold selection days for successful applicants in February. This is so that our new staff are fully trained over the summer term and are ready to take over from graduating staff the following Autumn. This does mean that unfortunately we are unable to accept applications from final year students. The starting point of your training will be an Induction Day. There will be a further training and an assessment day that you will need to attend but this date will be arranged through your new department.

Please read the important information below before you submit an application.

The 2013 recruitment drive is now over! Please check back in December 2013 for next year's drive or keep your eye on the current vacancies page throughout the year.

what are the benefits?

We offer job opportunities that can fit around your studies, provide you with excellent experience for your CV, with access to additional training, the chance to progress to Supervisor, and of course, a very useful source of income!

Our rates of pay can be found in 'Useful Forms' (please see below) and on top of your pay and holiday pay, you will also be able to take advantage of some great discounts around the Union. Not to mention that you'll have the opportunity to be part of a fantastic team, meet new friends and earn some spending money!

can I work in the UK?

You must have the correct immigration documents to allow you to work in the UK (Visa/Work Permit) before you apply for a position with the Students' Union. You will need to bring these documents to your interview.

Please do not apply if you do not already have the required documents, even if you are waiting for them to arrive.

You will not be offered a position within the Students' Union without the required paperwork! To find out more information about Visa's and Work Permits, please click here.
