RockSoc is a society for people who like rock music here at the University of Essex. Anyone's welcome, whatever their particular tastes in rock.
RockSoc is a varied society, with members who like to socialise, members who just use us as an information source for going out with others and members who just like to take part in discussion on our website. RockSoc does a variety of different things, including quiet nights at the bar, loud club-type nights in venues on campus, mass outings to gigs both locally and further afield and pub crawls in nearby town Wivenhoe.
We also maintain a directory of venues and upcoming events so that our website can be a one-stop source of everything rock-related in and around the university and Colchester.
Finally, at the end of the year any remaining money is spent on a large, loud barbeque out by the lakes on campus, so if you don't feel like you've got your money's worth you can come and fill up your stomach for free!
In short, RockSoc provides something for almost everyone, and its membership fee won't break the bank! ;-)
