students' union job opportunities
The Students' Union is proud to be recognised as a world class employer and we are the first Students' Union to be awarded with the Investors in People Gold Standard, which we are incredibly proud of. In order to achieve our vision of positively affecting the life of every University of Essex student, we employ more than 400 permanent, part-time and student staff and invest heavily in helping them to make a real difference to the student experience.
Working for the Students' Union provides a fantastic opportunity to excel in a vibrant, professional and fast-paced environment and work closely with our 10,000 student members in delivering first class services and activities. All of our jobs are advertised online here, so check back regularly if you want to become part of the award-winning Students' Union team. You will find all any vital information that you need to apply for a job on this page, including our application form, terms and conditions and a brief history of the Students' Union.
Your Students’ Union is the biggest student employer on campus. More than 350 members of student staff help us to deliver award winning services and activities that make student life better. The best part is that the money you help the Union to make goes straight back into the services provided to students!
Throughout the year we look for the best candidates to be recruited for various positions across the Union from Venues staff, Catering and Retail staff to roles in the Marketing and Entertainments Departments. Almost everywhere you go in the Students’ Union you will be greeted by a member of Student Staff.
