The Awards!
It has been tradition within the Students' Union to honour the Socities Guild's best Societies each year at the Annual Golden Guild Awards.
With 5 headlining awards for Societies, as well as Society Standard Awards and the Commendation for members who have gone above and beyond the call of duty, the evening is designed to honour, but also thank, all those individuals and Societies who have really made a difference here at Essex.
The Awards are as follows:
Society of the Year - Awarded to the Society that has shown an exceptional care to it's members providing regular events, trips, socials, volunteering opportunities, maintaining great financial strength and improvements over recent years.
Best New Society - This society will have only begun in the last year and will have built itself up to being a prominant society within the SU and Essex. It will show a real determination to start successfully and gain as many members as possible in the first year.
Best Event of the Year - This award eflects back over the year to the greatest one off events, whether it's a workshop, lecture, party, trip, social or anything else that deems itself an event!
Best Value Society - This award will be given to the society which provides the most for it's membership, for the lowest cost for it's members.
