Whats up for grabs?

There are five Sabbatical Officer positions, all of which are up for grabs in the forthcoming 2010 Sabbatical Elections.

Positions

The positions, and the current postholders, are as follows:

PRESIDENT

Co-ordinates the work of the Executive Committee and represents Essex students to the University, locally and nationally.

EDUCATION

Oversees all academic issues within the University and supports all the course representatives.

SERVICES & COMMUNICATION

Responsible for overseeing commercial and media services of the Union and representing student interests.

WELFARE & COMMUNITY

Responsible for overseeing welfare issues within the Union and building strong relationships with the local community.

What is a Sabbatical Officer?

A Sabbatical is a full-time Officer who is elected by students to lead their SU. They act as their voice and represent the students on issues that affect their education, welfare, societies, culture, sport and overall student experience.


What are the benefits of being a Sabbatical Officer?

There is no limit to the amount of experience that can be gained from being a Sabbatical Officer, or the activities that you may be involved with during the year.
A Sabbatical Officer leads, develops, creates ideas, and works as part of team to see these ideas through.
Being a Sabbatical is what you make of it, and you will find your year is packed with new situations, experiences, challenges, hard work and fun.
