Where do students vote?
All of the voting takes place online here at essexstudent.com. This means that students can easily vote from any PC with an internet connection, including the University labs or PC’s in student accommodation. So if you have a laptop or PC in your room you might not even have to leave bed to vote!
Who can vote?
Any current University of Essex student can vote. Across the three University of Essex campuses (Colchester, Loughton and Southend) there are more than 10,000 students that are eligible to vote, all of whom can have a decisive say in these elections.
How do students log in to the website?
You must use your Essex User Name and Password to log in to the website.
How are the votes counted?
The votes are counted electronically
using a transferable voting system
which basically means that votes
are counted in order of preference
with the least preferred person
being eliminated and their votes
transferred to the next person.
