Each year in February, students put themselves forward to run for a full-time, paid position as a Student Leader. They campaign for votes and every Essex student will have an equal chance to 'vote like a student' and choose who they want to be elected into each of the 6 roles. This is the SU Leadership Election.

If sophie k, then who for black officer?

Hi, my name is Sophie, and I am running for the Black Officer. As founder of Black Lives Matter Colchester, having organised two peaceful protests and curated an exhibition displaying placards from the protest (on until 23rd October), I have all the experienced required. I am the ideal candidate. During my time at Essex, I have been a student rep and a student ambassador.

I want to represent all Black students at the University and to ensure Black students voices are heard. I aim to create a safe space for all black students on campus. I am more than ready to tackle anything thrown at me.

Thank you for reading my manifesto and feel free to get in contact with me to ask me any questions.

Vote for me, Sophie k as your Black officer.
