Each year in February, students put themselves forward to run for a full-time, paid position as a Student Leader. They campaign for votes and every Essex student will have an equal chance to 'vote like a student' and choose who they want to be elected into each of the 6 roles. This is the SU Leadership Election.

WHAT'S THE PLAN JAS?

My main objective is to focus on your student experience and to make it the most memorable aspect as well as aiming to project my energy into giving every student a voice when it comes to enhancing their time at university. WHOEVER you want to be, WHATEVER you want to be a part of, I aim to support you. The mental health of each and every one of you is as important as the next and for me, sports and exercise saved me.

As a keen sports woman, I am very passionate about the sporting industry. I want to encourage the engagement and participation from all students and highlight what has made my student experience... being part of a team. Now this team can be anything from sports to societies but the main thing is that you all have that common interest and desire to meet people who you can relate to. I want to provide students with the opportunities to be themselves and focus on supporting their mental health through actively engaging themselves within the student union and what is has to offer.

I have been a part of the Essex Blades Hockey Team from day 1 since starting my studies here at UoE. I have been the first team women's captain for 2 years and have been club president and social secretary for 1 year. My experience is high through working within the hockey exec committee and this is where my leadership and organisation skills really shine. I want to give everyone the confidence to be a part of something at Essex, to enhance their studies and maintain a happy, healthy mind.

Now, I know what you're thinking, as a blades member you think my main priorities lie there. Well hunnis, you are wrong. I want to focus on all aspects of your student experience and ensure members of societies, V-Team, JustPlay, RAG and Rebels all have their voice. I want to create communites and bring everyone together to really boost inclusivity here at Essex. More mass participation events to project you and your team's energy across campus. Let those good vibes flow 24/7.

Oh and don't think I have forgotten about you guys over at Southend and Loughton. We are building team Essex!

LET'S MAKE GOOD THINGS HAPPEN!
