MY LETTER TO YOU!
It's been a tough year for students blended learning hasn't been what it has been sold to students. Our international students paying fees for a miss sold idea. All of you are not receiving the quantity and quality of education. It has been a ride arguing and expressing students view at university level even to the highest committee where the President is the only student representation. I have built relationships and allies with those members which have helped in getting wins and arguing for more student representation on university committees. I want this to continue I want to continue being the student's megaphone!
Approachable: I have spoken to so many of you whether that is in the corridor, sub zero, greenhouse, zoom, meze, the lounge and even on the walk home I want to continue being the person you feel comfortable to raise things and trust will voice them and get shit done.?
its about better safety on campus for all people no matter your race, gender or ethnicty or disbaility, it is about being allowed to put your mental health first and have an easier and safe enviroment where you can do that it is about ensuring that all students no matter what campus you come from get opportunities. It is about enusirng that the univeristy remains accoutnbale and diverse and inclusive for ALL!
The SU a place I love and hate I love the principle and the vision to be the most student-centred organisation in the world but I hate the red tape and this year has been a journey in pinpointing it and starting to rip it off. I'm still the pissed of student I was back in 2020 and wanting to bring new ideas to the SU to improve it. Trustees are so important when to comes to the SU and ensuring this year they are up to date with what is going on is vital when making decisions. I want this to continue I want to carry ripping the Red tape off and bridging bridges.
Equality and Diversity is a passion of mine it's vital that the university policies represent this. I want to see all our students supported and succeeding. I want us to break stigmas and I want us to be at the forefront of diversifying our research, curriculum, and employment this goes both for SU and Uni. Strategy is key and what I have been doing needs another year of leading, another year of pushing to make sure things get through.
