Each year in February, students put themselves forward to run for a full-time, paid position as a Student Leader. They campaign for votes and every Essex student will have an equal chance to 'vote like a student' and choose who they want to be elected into each of the 6 roles. This is the SU Leadership Election.

Let's cut the crap. I've been here since 2018 doing my undergraduate in Criminology with Social Psychology and now I'm doing my Master's in Psychology. If you think I look familiar it might be because I've been dedicating my time in Subzero ever since from being a Welfare Assistant to Bar Staff to Bar Supervisor and now a Shift Supervisor. Or maybe you've seen me give tours to people on campus as I am a Student Ambassador as well. Basically I know my shit.

I've been here in pre-pandemic times, pandemic times and kinda post-pandemic or whatever this is and I've got a good experience of this university in all aspects: SU membership, academic side, leisure time, student jobs, support services and pretty much everything you can think of and I can see how many things students lack since the pandemic. I've been in the SU for 4 years now and I've worked with different managers and current SU President and VPs and I have a clear picture of what it takes to create a change in how SU runs and the activities we offer to students.

My goal is to create an unforgettable uni experience for every student, by focusing on relevant issues:

1) unbiased support for societies and sports clubs- I feel that societies are being ignored and I want to change that. I want to hear your feedback on relevant issues!
Also, is it weird I want to create a society for gym rats? I will focus on seeking more support such as coaches for sports teams and more training facilities

2) diversity-oriented events- either on squares or SU venues, I will make sure every student's opinion is heard in terms of the daytime and nighttime events that will take place on campus. I personally really want to see a Balkan and Arab night in Subzero, who else?
3) anything else! I am done hearing other people's crap about why some things can't change at this uni. I want to challenge the people that say no and create change!

I am really confident that I can use my time, experience and passion here at Essex to bring the activities that people dream of when they're thinking about being a student.

P.S. don't be shy to say Hi! when you see me in SubZero or Squares!
