Each year in February, students put themselves forward to run for a full-time, paid position as a Student Leader. They campaign for votes and every Essex student will have an equal chance to 'vote like a student' and choose who they want to be elected into each of the 6 roles. This is the SU Leadership Election.

KOBBIE

To experience your best life at Essex university, vote for Kobbie as your new VP student experience!

My 4 years at Essex University have most definitely been the best 4 years of my life and If I was to become your next VP student experience my main focus would be to ensure ALL students have a chance of living life to their fullest at this university.

I started at Essex back in 2018 and I have been living on campus for 3 out of those 4 years. This has given me a great opportunity to meet a range of different students each year and be heavily involved in the community which has made me very adaptable to the different characters at this university. I feel this is one the factors that makes me the ideal candidate for the role as I have had years of experience already just soaking up the and listening to the views and ideas of what other students feel would make their experience at this university better.

I have also been playing football in the flexi-league at Essex since 2018 for Icardi B FC which strongly displays my passion for developing and sticking to projects. In our first year we finished rock-bottom of the league however, we continued fighting and last term I was able to captain us to our first ever title. Along with playing in the flexi-league I have a range of friends in different Essex blades sports teams whereby I’m always watching to support them, as VP student experience I would love to maintain the great standards the blades sports teams have been held to. Along with the sports teams I aim to focus on ensuring we call ALL thrive whether that’s in JustPlay, RAG, V-Team, Rebels and all the different societies as well as all students in general across ALL three of our campuses SOUTHEND and LOUGHTON included!!!!

If you don’t see me around campus or on the pitches you will most definitely catch me in Sub Zero LIVING MY BEST LIFE! It would be great to input ideas on improving safety in the clubs and around campus to make sure all students feel comfortable. I love being social so as VP student experience communication would be one of the main features, I’d love to utilise between all staff, students and general members of the community.

I also want to increase engagement around the uni and mainly ensure EVERYONE at the university knows about EVERYTHING available to them.
