Each year in February, students put themselves forward to run for a full-time, paid position as a Student Leader. They campaign for votes and every Essex student will have an equal chance to 'vote like a student' and choose who they want to be elected into each of the 6 roles. This is the SU Leadership Election.

I’m guessing you have clicked on my manifesto because you don't know me, and if you do, then you know how much I value the student experience at Essex!

Well, while I’ve been at Essex University, I’ve been on the committee for the rugby club for the past 2 years. This year i have picked up Club Development on the Essex Blades Executive Committee as well. While I’ve been on the Blades Executive team, I have seen first-hand the changes we, as a team, are trying to get going. One of them being the organization of Derby day for clubs to participate in, while still giving spectators things to do on the day so that you are involved even if you are not playing in the games. This is something I want to keep going with this coming year if elected.

Moving forward, if elected I want to make YOUR student experience better. Doing this through the society you are part of, the sports team you play for, and the Just Play events that anyone can get involved in. I might be coming from a sports background, but this doesn’t mean I don’t care about the society’s and the student media the Student Union put out. All of these have been important to the ever-growing University and I want them to improve over the coming year.
