Each year in February, students put themselves forward to run for a full-time, paid position as a Student Leader. They campaign for votes and every Essex student will have an equal chance to 'vote like a student' and choose who they want to be elected into each of the 6 roles. This is the SU Leadership Election.

KATHERINE BUNSTER

Dear co-students,and Su-staff members

After two beautiful years in University, I have decided to take action, and represent everyone that defines themselves as a woman.

When I have ideas, I like to develop them, and put them into action. In my two years in University, I have had all sorts of experiences as a woman, both good and bad. Therefore with my experiences, and with your support we can make the women in our University feel seen, heard and taken seriously.

I will focus on the intersectionality, and diversity of women, and I can promise you that I will compromise all my time and effort to listen to what you also have to say.

Additionally, I will also try and create a safe space for women on campus wheater if they want to meet up, or have something important to talk about. Anything from sexual health, childcare, university life or something different.

As a Su Leadership candidate I am intriguied to know more about how women feel on campus; and my questions is to women across univeristy - Are we being heard? Are we being taken seriosuly? Do we have enough safety? Are we getting enough representation?

I believe in a diverse and bold women´s community
