Each year in February, students put themselves forward to run for a full-time, paid position as a Student Leader. They campaign for votes and every Essex student will have an equal chance to 'vote like a student' and choose who they want to be elected into each of the 6 roles. This is the SU Leadership Election.

LUKE WHEELER

"Make your voice heard, let your choice be clear - choose me as your Education Rep this year!"

My name is Luke Wheeler and I'm a second year studying BSc Biochemistry. As the current Science & Health Education Rep, I have enjoyed representing my community and working with all the other reps this year. Because of this, I would like to represent you once again!

Being the current S&H education rep, alongside being a student rep for the School of Life Sciences for two years running, means I have a lot of experience with gathering feedback from peers and presenting this in formal meetings. It also means I have experience in conveying topics to the greater community in order to hear your thoughts on the matter!

I would like to focus on doing more within my role this time around if I'm elected. Some potential ideas I currently have include doing events for some of the many International STEM and science days throughout the year. These days are the perfect opportunities to cast a spotlight on the many amazing scientists throughout history and their contributions to their fields.

I would be honoured to represent you in the SU once again and to be given the opportunity to make a positive impact on your experience here at Essex.

Vote Luke Wheeler For Your Science & Health Education Rep Once Again!
