Each year in February, students put themselves forward to run for a full-time, paid position as a Student Leader. They campaign for votes and every Essex student will have an equal chance to 'vote like a student' and choose who they want to be elected into each of the 6 roles. This is the SU Leadership Election.

HELP ME DELIVER FOR SOCIETIES AGAIN

Thank you for taking the time to read my manifesto.

I have been a society rep. and president of the politics society over the past year. I have thoroughly enjoyed being a society rep. Here are some of the achievements I'm most proud of:

-I called for the creation of the Music Committee where we have been addressing all issues musical on campus and assisting the Music Society in their event planning

-Taking problems societies have made me aware of to the relevant places, whether that be in parliament, to the sabbatical officers or staff within the SU

-Creating the President's Group Chat, enabling presidents and societies to connect and communicate about various topics

-Volunteering to be a member of the Parliament Structure Focus Group, to reform to Parliament.

With your vote, I plan to:

-Look at assembling a "Policy Focus Group" to tackle issues within the SU and get lots of important policies through Parliament

-Look at how Student Union staff can better support society execs

-Continue my work standing up for societies in Parliament.

Thank you,

James
