Mid-Autumn Moon Festival

04/10/2017 - 04/10/2017

6pm - 8pm

Square 3

Welcome to the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival!

Dating back more than 3,000 years to the Shang Dynasty, the harvest festival honours the full moon as a symbol of peace, prosperity and reunion. One of the elements of the festival is the exchange of pastries called ‘Yuè Bing’, or mooncakes. Symbolising completeness, the sharing of this delicacy signifies the unity of families and builds strong ties within the community.

Come and try on traditional clothing called cheongsams and changshans at our photobooth, enjoy cultural performances by professional dancers and take part in our Ribbon Dance demonstration. Cultural Societies will also host activity booths and a lantern-making workshop on the day. In line with tradition, we will also give out free mooncakes and serve matcha tea. Save the date!
