  is an intensive 6-week public speaking development program designed to e
 mpower University of Essex students to craft and deliver compelling TEDx-
 style talks. This transformative workshop series guides participants from
  initial ideation through to a polished 18-minute talk delivered at a pro
 fessionally produced Mock TEDx event.</p>\n\n<h2>Program Structure</h2>\n
 \n<h3>Week 1: The Power of Ideas - Finding Your &quot\;Idea Worth Spreadi
 ng&quot\;</h3>\n\n<p><strong>Date:</strong> Friday\, 7th November 2024 |

 o the TEDx philosophy and format\, learning what constitutes an &quot\;id
 ea worth spreading.&quot\; Through analysis of iconic TED talks and guide
 d brainstorming exercises\, students will explore their personal stories\
 , expertise\, and passions to identify potential talk topics. The session
  includes small group discussions and ideation frameworks designed to unc

  and TEDx talk structure. Participants will learn how to construct compel
 ling narrative arcs\, create powerful opening hooks\, and build emotional
  connections with audiences. Each participant will pitch their top idea i
 n a 2-minute format to receive peer feedback and expert guidance.</p>\n\n

 pants will develop their first complete draft. Training will cover techni
 ques for clarity\, emotional impact\, and persuasive communication\, incl
 uding the integration of data\, personal stories\, and effective calls-to
 -action. Participants will engage in peer editing sessions and learn the 
 &quot\;one sentence test&quot\; to distill their core message.</p>\n\n<p>
 &nbsp\;</p>\n\n<hr />\n<h3>Week 4: Delivery Skills - Voice\, Body\, Prese

 lls including vocal variety\, pacing\, strategic pausing\, body language\
 , and stage presence. Participants will engage in voice projection exerci
 ses\, body language workshops\, and deliver 3-minute excerpts from their 
 talks. Video recording and self-review sessions provide valuable feedback
 \, while improv exercises build confidence.</p>\n\n<p><strong>Guest Speak

 ughs with structured feedback from peers and expert coaches. Each partici
 pant will deliver their complete talk (or 10-minute version) and receive 
 comprehensive feedback on both content and delivery. Technical preparatio
 n includes guidance on visual aids\, stage blocking\, and microphone tech
 nique.</p>\n\n<p><strong>Guest Speaker:</strong> Expert coach will observ
 e all run-throughs\, provide individualized feedback\, conduct one-on-one
  coaching moments\, and deliver final preparation advice for the Mock TED
 x event.</p>\n\n<p>&nbsp\;</p>\n\n<hr />\n<h3>Week 6: Mock TEDx Event - L
 ive Presentations</h3>\n\n<p><b>Event Details : TBC</b></p>\n\n<p>The cul
 mination of the program features a professionally staged Mock TEDx event 
 complete with red carpet setup\, TEDx branding\, and professional filming
 . Each participant will deliver their polished 12-18 minute talk before a
 n audience including all guest speakers from previous weeks\, university 
 leadership\, invited guests\, faculty\, and fellow students. A profession
 al MC will host the event\, followed by a panel Q&amp\;A with guest speak
 ers.</p>\n\n<p><strong>Post-Event:</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n	<li>Professiona
 l video recordings of presentations</li>\n	<li>Networking opportunities w
