WHAT YOU'LL DO. 
THE DAY TO DAY.

Bar staff will work as team members within our students union venues-working in either SU bar, base or top bar but may be asked to work in other venues dependant on business requirements.The post holder will be trained in drinks preperation and service, till operation, cash handling, stock rotation, product knowledge, promotions and customer service.

We're a mix of students from 135 different countries of every age, gender, sexuality, religion, year of study and shoe size. We'll look after you whatever.

Your Responsibilities

The things you'll be looking after

 

  • Champion customer service in your area
  • Prepare and serve drinks to a required standard and inline with Health and Safety standards and legislation
  • Conform to bar operation procedures and make recommendations for change when appropriate
  • Contribute as a team member to ideas in relation to operational efficiency and service standards
  • Carry out any cleaning as directed front and back of house
  • Till operation and cash handling
  • Attend all relevant training
  • Assist in promotions
  • Assist in relevant key events throughout the year, e.g freashers fair and summer ball etc
  • Work with all other team members in a fair and respectful manner in accordance with legislation and SU policy and procedures
  • Any other duties, as may be resaonably required, from time to time

Who you are

The kind of person you'll need to be

  Essential Desirable
Experience and understanding of the needs of the student memebership  

Ability to take responsibility for completion of required training in connection to the position

 
Ability to use own initiative  

Ability to work well as a team member

 
Ability to operate relevant tills and other electronic equipment    

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
