This role is in the Promise 4 department; our focus is ensuring that all students no matter what their background is have the best experience at Essex. This role will focus on working with and for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Students, helping to support SU activity and create engaging communication for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic students.
WHAT YOU'LL DO.
THE DAY TO DAY.
You will play a key role in developing the student experience for Black and Asian students' at the University. You'll work to understand the needs of Black and Asian students and work with them to find solutions to any problems they highlight. You'll help to create platforms for Black and Asian students' to come together, share their needs and ideas, and use the support of the Students' Union to create positive change.

Your Responsibilities
- Going out and speaking to Black and Asian students' about their experiences at the University and how we can improve services and facilities for them, demonstrating a level of empathy and understanding in these conversations.
- Understanding of the journey and experiences of Black and Asian students'.
- Helping to develop and facilitate projects and events for Black and Asian students'.
- Deliver informative and engaging communication for Black and Asian students', both online and face to face.
- Helping to ensure that all relevant areas of the website and social media are kept up to date with events and services in relation to Black and Asian students'.
- Providing support for other community based departmental events and activities.
