There are a number of roles elected as part of The Leadership race and here you can learn more about them!

 7 students are elected by the student body to run the SU for a year. They press pause on their studies, taking a “sabbatical” and work full time representing you. 

We also elect a number of Student community officers who ensure that their communities have a voice.

Overseas the running of the SU and is the Chair of the trustee board

VP Education

Is responsible for ensuring students educational needs are being met and that any concerns or issues are represented effectively

VP Student Experience

Is responsible for ensuring students have access to excellent experiences outside of their academic studies. This covers Societies, V-team and sports

VP International

Is responsible for representing International students and project managing the Big Plan

VP Welfare

 Is responsible for representing students welfare

VP Community & Engagement

 Is responsible for the Student Community officers and working with the Engagement team on maintaining high levels of engagement with students

VP Southend

Is responsible for ensuring Southends student re represented at all levels

Union Chair

Is responsible for chairing and overseeing the All Student Parliament

Black Officer

Represents the Black students based on the Colchester campus, ensuring  events are inclusive and issues are heard
