Support for Financial Difficulty
Every one’s financial situation is different. The SU Advice Service offers both advice on financial matters and help in applying for an SU Hardship Loan. It is located on Square 3 next to Lloyds Bank and is open weekdays 10am-4pm during term time. A link to the SU Hardship Loan application form can be found here. As well as this, the university also offers several different hardship loans. Information and forms can be found on the university website under ‘Fees and Funding’.
If you’re located on Colchester campus the following places are available to offer advice and support
SU Advice
SU Advice (located on Square 3 next to Lloyds Bank) is there for you to advise on matters such as health, immigration, academic problems and money to name just a few. They are open weekdays between 10am-4pm.
Student Services Hub
Student Services Hub on the first floor of the Silberrad Student Centre. The Information Desk is there for advice on matters such as accommodation, exams, money and administration, whilst the Support Desk is there for advice on personal issues and disability services.
Night Line
Nightline is open every night during term time between 10pm-8am. It is a confidential service for students looking for help or support. They are located in Flat 1 at the back of Keynes Tower, North Campus. They also offer a telephone service at 0800 326 5454.
Residence Life

Course Reps
If your problem is concerned with your course, the first person you should go to is your course rep. They should have emailed you at the beginning of term; if not, their contact details can be found on this page.
*If you have feedback or complaints to give to the SU, visit Student Ideas or SU React, both of which you can find under the ‘Shape Everything’ tab.
