Hello everyone!
As many of you might be aware by now, we at the Students' Union have been working tiredlessly on creating online activities and content for you to enjoy and join us.
We know it can be difficult, with the safe isolation and everything that has been going on, but we are set on offering you a great experience, and as members of the SU, we encourage you to engage with those activities.
We made them fun, we made them accessible !
If you have not yet managed to activate your SU membership, make sure you go now on the essex.su/hello.
After that, make sure you have a look around the website for all the information you might need regarding, ISA, societies, sports clubs, volunteering and especially EVENTS!
You can check what is happening on the https://www.essexstudent.com/whatson/ for all the latest activities and events.
On Other news!
If you are not yet aware, the ISA opens the application for Committee positions starting with the 29 of September, so make sure you go and check that out! These are great volunteering oportunities that will help develop key knowledge and experience on running projects and workins as a team, as much as develop your skills and get you ready for the career hunting!
Other important bits:
- I am hosting both a quiz and a Jack in the Box session, and if you go on What's On now, you can find more details about this! I hope to see many of you there!
It will be fun, interactive and a great ice breaker. We can then further discuss, ask question and get to know one another and how we can help each other make the most out of our time at Essex University!
Finally, some Important Work I have been doing:
- create a taskforce to help me with student feedback and analyse the overall success of online learning and how we can tell the University to improve based on the feedback
- gather important information for international students in order to be able to adress all possible queries ! (I am always here to help you <3)
- create a welcome/explanatory video for all internationals to hopefully see by the time they arrive at the University or during the first few Weeks
- have a stall at the Freshers Fair for the ISA (See you all there!) to promote the Association and all the oportunities and benefits our international students can get from engaging with the ISA
- Liaise with University International department in order to assess and insure all necesarry informations are passed to our international students in order to help them with their arrival in UK and accomodation
Thats all from me for this few weeks! Will see you on the next post, till then...
