Hey! 

Nice of you to drop by my blog, hopefully it’s going to be a good read, but please bear with me as it’s my first ever blog post. (to be honest I think I’d prefer doing a vlog).

This is the first of many more blog posts to come and they’ll be coming out every other week, so you’ll get regular updates from me, don’t you worry!

When I write this, it’s been six weeks since I became VP Community & Engagement, and I’d argue that it’s been amazing getting to engage with the SU community (embarrassing pun). Although this pandemic is making things a bit more challenging, its just one more thing we have to adapt to…. in the end of the day, there’s no manual on how to lead an organisation through a pandemic*

In terms of what I’ve been up to, it’s mainly been training, getting to know the ins and out of both the SU and the university, so that I can represent YOU in the best way possible. Everything from cringy photoshoots to finance and trustee training, it’s been very hectic, but extremely valuable. We also did a social day out as a Sabbatical team which was 10/10!

Some of the most important work I’ll be doing this year is representing our Black Community in various committees set up by both the university and the SU. That was a bit longer than I had intended, but then again… I Actually Give A Sh*t!
