Officer Report

Black, asian and minority ethnics officer

What have I done this month?
  • The BAME Cine10 idea has been approved by the Venues team in the Student's Union. The first installation of the project is will be Slumdog Millionaire, which will be shown on Wednesday 24th January.
  • The next BAME Forum will be held on Tuesday 6th of February from 18:30-20:00. The venue is still to be announced, however members of the university have been invited to attend in order to truly draw information from students and for the appropriate people in the university to make the appropriate changes.
  • Flyers and posters have been made and printed for BAME Nation. There are posters on the screens on the stairs between Square 3 and Square 4. Photography and refreshments have been confirmed for the event. Members from the v-Team in the Promise 1 department of the Student's Union have confirmed their attendance to BAME Nation. They will be discussing volunteering opportunities available to current Essex students, which are beneficial for increasing experience and skills.
  • I have filmed a video which will probably be featured on the page regarding my life as an officer and advice for anyone who may want to run as BAME Officer in 2018/19.
What to expect next month?
  • A review of the BAME Forum will be mentioned in the February report.
  • A summary of BAME Nation will featured.
  • A date for a possible BAME Mixer will be announced.
