REDUCE THE COSTS OF LIVING
-Worked with the VP Services and Comms and the Director of Accommodation to reduce the cost of replacing the accommodation card from £20 to £15.
GENDER PAY ALIGNMENT
-Supported the University to allocate resources to close the gender pay gap at professorial level (the only gap identified in the previous study)
-Together with the university have agreed to allocate 100K more than last year to create internships for our 2016 Essex graduates
-Continued the handover to initiate Zoe into the role
-Invited her to take part in all the university committees I am attending.
-Currently developing a new RAG structure for the SU
-Took part in the Chimp Management course
-Started work on the final ILM assignment.
-Organised meetings with the exec members to gather feedback and help the team to improve.
FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION OVER NO PLATFROM
-Proposed a motion through the Student Ideas page to ban no platform on controversial speakers.
-Worked with the University on future developments of the International Academy
-Currently looking for a partnership with a global pathway provider
-Discussed with the library staff a new fining policy
-We have been considered just fining for overdue books that have been requested by another library user.
