Southend Student Parliament

WHAT IS STUDENT PARLIAMENT?

At the moment thousands of Essex students are involved in a rich variety of different communities within the Students’ Union.

All of these communities are making a big impact on students’ lives in those areas, we want to make sure these communities have power to make real change throughout the SU and the University by getting together once a month to solve issues and amplify Essex students’ voices in a bigger, more powerful way.

SU FOCUSES FOR THIS YEAR

Over three days we spoke to hundreds of Essex students to find out what the final priorities of the SU should be for next year.

You didn't hold back. You came out in the rain and the sunshine, and voted online so that the SU is doing what students want next year.

my course

I'd like to see a tailored experience to the Academic Skills modules on every course.

I'm not happy about hidden course costs.

EnvironmenT

I'm not happy with how much single-use waste the campus creates.

SU Lounge

I would love to see the Lounge and Mez renovated.

I want to see a wider variety of food options.

mENTAL hEALTH

I feel that there are not enough support services availiable on campus.

I'd like to see a greater sence of a campus community.
