Hi! Welcome to Colchester

Welcome back to all returning members and welcome to all those just joining us!

Whether you're in your postgrad year or haven't even arrived onto campus yet, this virtual Welcome Fair is here to help!

Find out useful information, how to get involved, find support or visit one of the virtual stalls to talk to a real human being.

We've split up your options below to make it easier to find what you're looking for, if you need any help, check out the 'Get Support' page.

In a normal year, the campus would be buzzing and squares would be full of student groups for you to meet and find out a bit more about what they do. As you can't talk to them in person, come meet our student run activities through watching short videos about them and finding out how you can get involved.

A national lockdown may mean we can't hold a January fair in person but it doesn't mean you can't go speak to stall holders. The students that run the Essex Blades Sports Clubs, SU Societies, Rebel, Volunteering Projects and teams across the University and Students' Union will be hosting virtual stalls. Check out this page to find out when they will be hosting their virtual stall and how you can talk to them.

Find out about the different ways you can get involved at Essex. There are a whole range of student activities including Volunteering with our award winning VTeam, joining an Essex Blades Sports Club or SU Society or checking out student media with Rebel.
You can also find ways to participate in events, both online and in person (when we're allowed) so there is something to do whether you're on campus or not.
There are also lots of communities that you can become part of and so much more.

This year has been tough on everyone and we know it has been really unsettling for so many of our members. We've brought together lots of different ways you can get support on campus. If you haven't arrived yet, don't worry, you can still engage with support online.
On this page you'll find out info about how to access the Student Wellbeing and Support team and SU Advice who will be able to support you with a range or issues and if they can't, they'll probably know who can. You'll also be able to see how to access faith support, academic support, housing support and more.

We know things can feel a little bit chaotic in the world at the moment and sometimes it's difficult to keep up with changes to how things are running.
To make life easier for you, we have collated lots of useful information including food outlet opening times,  where you can go to study on campus or how to get a book out the library. We have also pulled together infomation on essential and support services on campus so you know when and how you can access them.
