*Hot lets*

There have been various reports in the local press about the Colchester letting agency Hotlets.  It appears that Hotlets has closed suddenly.  The office in Church Street, Colchester has shut and several reports suggest that they may have ceased trading.

We advise that any student who is currently renting from or has put down a deposit for a property through Hotlets should come into the Students’ Union Advice Centre as soon as possible where we can provide more information and alternative sources of advice.  Please make sure you bring your contract and any paperwork regarding the property.

If you are currently paying money directly to the Hotlets Letting Agency we advise, at this stage, before paying any more money, that you make contact with your landlord first.

We are currently making further investigations about the situation.  Please check our website regularly for more updates.
