Tuesdays 6.30-8 pm
Thursdays 6-7 pm
The Netball club has 3 teams that compete in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) league. The club also has 2 teams that compete in a local Non BUCS competition and is open to all students and staff at the advertised membership price below . Non-students and students at other institutions should contact the Sports and Societies Office (sportsandsocs@essex.ac.uk) for details on how to join.
The Netball Club is a fantastic chance to be a part of a successful, friendly group of people who enjoy playing netball and socialising together. We have had many successes over the past years and wish to continue these successes into the future. Our first team have won their league for the past two years and have now been promoted to 2B in the BUCS league. They also made it into the final of the BUCS tournament in 2008 and was given team of the year at our recent sports awards! Our second team also came top of their league but ended up second on goal difference so we want to better that this year!
If playing netball competitively is not what you fancy then why not just come to the training to stay fit and healthy and meet a new group of people. We have many members who just come along to play for fun and for fitness so everyone is welcome!
To sign up as a member of this club please ensure that you have first registered to www.essexstudent.com and click on the membership payment icon (add to basket) at the bottom of the page, then you can pay via Debit or Credit Card through the online payment system. Alternatively you can sign up as a member of this club by enquiring at the Students' Union Reception by providing your PRID number on your student card.
