Archery
University of Essex Archery Club (UeAC)
Archery is a sport with long traditions and an every-increasing popularity. Here at Uni. Essex the club was re-opened in 2007 after a period of inactivity. Since then the club has only grown in size and achievements.
We welcome everyone of all levels to join. Beginners will be given extensive training to learn the sport. The club has its own equipment, which all members are welcome to use. If you have your own gear you may of course bring it to the sessions, but having your own gear is not essential in order to enjoy the sport.
The club will be competing in a variety of competitions that take place all around England, including BUCS and the regional archery league for students (SEAL). Being in the club allows you to meet other archers from around the country as the archery community is very open and friendly.
Being in UeAC is also a social experience: the club loves going to events and having a pint and a friendly talk at the SU Bar.
In the academic year 2009/10 our club was second best Club of the Year, this is a very high achievement at the University. This year we hope to become Club of the Year and Best Social Club of the Year.
