Welcome to Essex Universities Badminton page

Badminton is a very enjoyable club which encourages players of any standard to join, from complete beginers to those who play at very high standards! We aim to incorporate a social aspect to the club so we can all have some fun, but at the same time keep competitive edge in BUCS leagues.
 

Training

We have allocated training times (listed below) in which club members may be asked to join if we think the standard is high enough, this training will be led by current players using drills to keep us all sharp for the season, and hopefully improve all the time in doing so. 

We also have club night for those who dont wish to make the team/didnt make it, during this we are happy to give advice to how to improve, or  you can just have some games and get to meet alot of new people.

Matches and Competitions

We currently have two Mens teams and one Ladies team competing in BUCS league. BUCS is the league in which we play other universities, playing in these means you are chosen by the corresponding captains. If you manage to make the team these are great fun, you have a day out traveling to the matches and playing in different places with some tough competition.

There is also the biggest sporting day on the planet, Derby Day, this is where every sport is fiercely competed against UEA (The University of East Anglia) our biggest rivals. Two teams are chosen to play one Mens and one Ladies.

Fresher's Week Come & Try Sessions:

Saturday 15th October 10am-2pm                     Please note these sessions shall be used to select possible team members.

 

Training Times and Club Night: 

Tuesday 5 -7pm - Team Training                                      Team training is for match players only, you will be instructed as to whether you may attend. 

Thursday 6 - 8.30pm - Club night
