The Postgraduate Students' Network brings together all postgraduate students – taught and research – from all 3 campuses.

We are a support network, research sharing platform, and a social group.

Bahare Afrahi

PG Research Officer
PhD Entrepreneurship (2nd Yr)

Hi, I'm Bahare.

As one of you, I aim at shaping a postgraduate community that brings various opportunities to research students; that’s why I stood to represent PGs in SU and in PhD Liaison Committee on behalf of the MMO.

I am always eager to hear new ideas from you: What could be improved for PhD students? Just drop an email and I will get back to you soon.

Here are some places that offer great help support and advice for students:

As a postgraduate student, there's a section on the library's ground floor dedicated just for you. It's a spacious, modern and quiet study room. It's opposite the paternoster and you'll have to scan your student card to enter and exit the room.

The postgraduate common room is a meeting space for you to use. Located in room 5.401 on the Colchester Campus, it's easily accessible from the Mathematics entrance off Square 2.

In Southend, the student common room, located in the Gateway Building (GB.2.32), provides a space to relax or study on your own or with friends.

Finding a garage you can trust can be tricky and students have told us they would like to find a garage that is honest, local and will always give you the best service.

We’ve been working with Alresford Garage to get you just that.

Show your student card and get 10% off labour charge and a reduced price of £45 for an MOT at Alresford Garage.

They’ll even bring you back to campus too, for no extra cost.
