Officer Report

VP Services & communication

Hi everyone, Tanki here and this is my officer report for April!

I feel I say that every month but god the time flies. There we are already 7 months. As time goes, I feel I’m growing in this role. My understanding of what is the best route to make sure that projects we are working on are successful and how to contact the relevant people.

I have been off a bit this month which is a good time as it’s calmer during that period.

Student Parliament

One of the projects I have been working on recently a lot is our brand new student Parliament.  We now are getting to the end of the project! The first Parliament will happen within the next three weeks with elected representatives that will vote on the program on which officers and the Student’s Union will focus on next year. It is very exciting and you still have time to sign up to be representatives! Following on next year, it will be the elect organ that will help shape the work of our Union and hold the officers to account.

Councillor meeting

I have had the pleasure of meeting with the Local councillors during this month. It was a meeting with the University and the councillors in order to discuss our relationship and work together in order to improve and further it. It was very interesting and I had the time to present the fantastic work our students do in the local community. It was very well received. We have also planned to meet the council with the new Sabbaticals team in order to work closer as a Union with them.

Trustee board

Another important responsibility that every Sabbatical officer fulfils is being a member of our trustee board. The meeting went very well and minutes are available.

We will have loads of events on (In Base, Sub Zero, on squares and around campus) so please have fun and if you have any query drop me a message on Facebook or at

Much Love your VP Services and Comms

And once again, thanks for reading
