welcome to just play

This year we’ll be solely focussing on offering you a greater number of opportunities to participate in FREE events on an even larger scale!

Working in partnership with Essex Sport, we plan to have a minimum of two large scale events per term for students to take part in. You can keep up to speed with what's on offer in the 'Events Coming Up This Term' section below and through our Facebook and Twitter pages.

Just Play will remain focussed on engaging with students from all backgrounds and abilities, with a non-competitive focus, low commitment and the overall message of “Getting Active, Making Friends and Having Fun!"

We want you to be at the heart of what we do and for your voice to be heard to ensure this programme is 'Powered by Students'. Each term, we’ll be actively encouraging you to share your views on what large scale events we can put on and use your opinions to shape these.

If you want to find out more or share any suggestions with us, please email justplay@essex.ac.uk

what about the aspects of just play I USED TO ENJOY?

The low commitment, fun drop in sessions we used to offer, for most sports, will still be available for you to engage in. Some of these have been taken on by Essex Sport (e.g. Volleyball) through their 'Active' programme.

You can find out more about the 'Active' sessions Essex Sport offer by clicking here. All information about these sessions can be found under 'Active sessions'.

There are still opportunities to practise Capoeira this year for those students and staff who used to participate in the Capoeira course last academic year . There is a Capoeira Club at the university and more details about what they offer can be found by clicking here.
