ABOUT OUR CLUB
Here at Essex, we provide classes for all capabilities in Ballet, Contemporary, Street, Commercial and Jazz. This wide range of styles means there is something for everyone!
All dancers have a chance to be in our annual showcase held at the Lakeside Theatre. We also run auditions for squads which attend competitions. As part of a squad, you get to travel with your team and compete, making great memories.
We run socials, and there is an opportunity to get on to the committee or even teach a class! There are also plenty more events run by our club every year, making the Dance Club the perfect place to make friends!
how many teams do we have?
For the 2023/24 academic year, Essex Dance has 5 competition squads - Ballet, Contemporary, Commercial, Street and Jazz.
GET STARTED
To be a part of the club, you need to join up as a member. The different club membership options are listed below with a description of what each membership covers. By purchasing a membership you are agreeing to the club's code of conduct.
To get involved, all you need is comfortable clothing, suitable footwear and a drink for classes!
Please note that your membership information will be used in conjunction with Essex Sport (University of Essex) purely for the purpose of providing access to required facilities and data analysis. Your data will not be shared with anyone else or used for marketing purposes. Memberships are uploaded to the Essex Sport system manually and so it may take up to 5 working days before you are able to book onto your session via the Essex Sport app and attend training sessions.

As a charity sports club that looks to benefit all student members, we are always looking at ways to keep the cost to our members as low as possible. We would welcome any donations towards our club activities and you can use any of the following links below, should you wish to make a donation towards our club funds. We welcome any dontation you are able to make.
All donations (minus a web processing fee) will be given to the Essex Blades Dance Club.
