I am so excited since this is my first ever blog for this academic year and the term already started! (I don’t get nervous but I’m starting to get a bit shaky). In these blogs, I will give you little insights about my role such as what works I am currently working on and important events that is happening soon.If you have any questions and love to get involved in the upcoming events, feel free to email me and the other student leaders!
This is the third month of my role now and it’s been a really intense, informative and exciting time for me and the other student leaders as we have attended a lot of trainings such as Anti-Semitism, Health and safety, Finance, GDPR, Public speaking…….. and of course the Big plan meetings. ( The blogs will be more interesting when the term starts. Source: trust me bro)
During the training period, we have also delivered two presentation of this year Big plan to the senior staff from both Colchester and Southend campuses, with the goal of identifying how and where the university staffs can assist and collaborate with us to deliver a better experience for all students and it is going well! I have also held different events already, such as
- The International Mixer on 4th October at 6-8pm. (Please see the picture below. We have a higher attendance than last year. Around 400 studetns. Better than Marcus, last year VP International. ^^)
- As well as, a series of regional mixers with different societies, Feel free to join.
- Thursday 12th October, 5-7pm, The Atrium – Latin American Mixer
- Monday 16th October, 5-7pm, The Atrium - Northern American
- Wednesday 18th October, 5-7pm, The Atrium - South Asia,
- Friday 20th October, 5-7pm, The Atrium - Central Asia (Chinese, Malaysian, Singapore)
- Also, the ISA team (International Students’ Association) committee is already here to help. I will have my first meeting with them to discuss how we can help you this year.
