How would I describe Bollywood? Exciting. Exotic. Extravagant. That’s why I decided the University of Essex needed a brand new Bollywood Society.

Who am I? An obsessive fan of the fire and passion of all things Bollywood.

We guarantee that you will be lost in the AWESOMENESS of our society, if you join up at Freshers’. Here’s a snapshot of what we’ll be doing on a regular basis:

- Dance classes once every two weeks: These will be taught by the highly prestigious Honey’s Dance Academy: http://www.honeysdanceacademy.com/ not boost your appreciation of Bollywood music and dance as well as your fitness?.Why
      
 - Film nights every two weeks: You can look forward to cheesy songs, hilarious dance routines and plenty of over-the-top acting, so definitely come down for a laugh!
 
 - A whole host of amazing socials to suit every taste, East and West.
       
- And if that wasn’t enough to whet your appetite, we will be hosting loads of events throughout the year, including a MASSIVE end of year event, PLANET BOLLYWOOD, so watch this space!
DATES TO KEEP IN YOUR DIARY:
- Monday 11th October: Fisrt film session. We will be showing Om Shanti Om! This will be the first chance for you to get to know everyone else in the society.
- Tuesday 12th October: Bollywood Society hosts Unite, the International night in Level2/Mondos. Come down to see the Paragon Dhol Academy, grab some jalebis and glowsticks and get henna tattoos. There will be a danceoff so come prepared....
- Friday 15th October: Our very first social. We will be heading into town to go to a Garba dance, whether your a beginner or a pro, Garba is a fun event for everyone!
