We organise frequent socials ,gigs and watch various bands throughout the year. We have seena diverse amount of bands ranging from Linkin Park, The Orwells, Slaves, Moose Blood, Rat Boy, Palma Violets and The Cribs. A few of us also attended Truck Festival during the summer. This year we intend to go to even more gigs and events across the country, as well as host more great socials!

Furthermore we also had success in pushing for more alternative nights out on campus. 'Breakout' was a new alternative night that has arrived on campus due to the success and popularity of the AltSoc and other alternative music societies. This year,'however we have taken the initiantive to start our own regular venue. We have hosted a range of musical Gigs featuring bands and musicians such as Polly Preacher , The Victories , Skuff , Lo Chief and so many many more. We also ensure that at least 50% of our events throughout the year go towards Charities such as Rock Agaisnt Racism, Girls Rock London, Care4Calais and soon The Teenage Cancer Trust. 

On top of this we also meet for various socials such as karoke ,pub quizes and vinyl listening clubs.Alternative music stongly focuses on keeping community at focus at all times. This year alone we have worked with the amazing Punk ,Feminist,Hope Not Hate ,Socialist,Young Greens,Metal,Funk,Choir,Music,Real Ale and Music Production societies respectivley and we have helped shape our community for the better.        

Get to know like minded people with the same great music taste, learn about new artists, enrich others with your favourite bands, or just get together and have great times with other awesome people.
